November Karma Pervs: Red Umbrella Diaries

What is Karma Pervs? In a nutshell: It’s a porn fundraiser. I choose a charity each month – members see sexy photos for a good cause! I post a unique photo set of pictures related to the cause and at the end of the month 100% is donated to the organization. Sign up to support, see pictures, and also enter to win great prizes!

This month, I decided to do a Karma Pervs fundraiser for my friend Audacia Ray‘s rad project called Red Umbrella Diaries. As posted on the site:

“The Red Umbrella Project is founded on the belief that storytelling is a building block of movement building and solidarity. People who have spent time in the sex industries know all too well the social and legal stigmas that prevent us from being treated with the dignity and respect we deserve. While researchers, the media, and myriad others fill up page after page with stories about the sex trade, the voices of people who have lived this reality are consistently denied and erased.

Everyone has a story, and the people who are best equipped to tell the stories of people in the sex trade are the people who have personal experiences in the industry.”

If you know anything about my involvement in sex work, you know that it’s rooted in my self-expression and built upon my state as an empowered person. I know someone else who operates with this same agency: my friend Dylan Ryan. When I flew to New York for the NYC Sex Bloggers Calendar, I had a shoot set up with a beautiful photographer (and his photos aren’t too shabby either…) named Aeric Meredith-Goujon. Some of you may know his work from earlier posts for Karma Pervs.

Dylan and I had a fantastic time shooting with him, and then not long after I was back on the plane headed home to SF. Over email we agreed that we wanted to support Red Umbrella Diaries. One I hope I can participate in the next time I’m on the East Coast!

Like any other updates, when you join you get access to all the previous posts — that’s now over 500 unique artistic images of me and a handful of other models taken by riveting photographers and all of us collaborating out of a cataclysmic love of art and activism. Well, that’s my take anyway! Art is sexy, and sex is fun. Fun is power, power is doing!

Sign up and raise money for empowered movers and shakers whose sexy, truthful, sad, beautiful, romantic, rocking, and — shockingly — our OWN voices made possible through Red Umbrella Diaries.
