Last night at the premiere screening of Madison Young’s film Layover at Femina Potens, a question was asked of all the stars who were present:
“What do you feel is the difference between sex in private and sex for film?”

We all had our different answers – mine was that when I have performative sex, there’s an awareness of the audience — performance-wise this primarily relates to the camera and making sure I don’t block myself or my partner from a good camera angle. This awareness doesn’t have to be a distraction from the passion and authenticity of the moment- in fact I find it a hot aspect of the exhibitionist element of sex on screen.

Courtney Trouble answered something I hadn’t really considered, but find totally true and interesting. She replied that scheduling the sex was something outside of her regular relationship to sexual activity – for many people, sex occurs spontaneously or with little to no planning. Working in film, however, means you’re on a schedule that tells you exactly when your sex scene is going to take place.

In many ways, the weeks leading up to a shoot add excitement to the scene as I imagine various possible scenarios of what could happen on set. I sometimes meet up and flirt with co-stars. I have an upcoming shoot on WiredPussy.com that I’ve been excited about, and have posted a little about it as it will be my first time subbing on camera. As the date (April 28th) nears, I have even given myself some loose goals to help me prepare for the shoot.

Some of them are emotional and mental preparations, and some of them are sexual or health – related. Whether it’s defining the boundaries I’m going to take with me to the set, or getting enough sleep and water in the days leading up to the shoot, I find it helpful to give myself these responsibilities. And exciting, because it means a lot of potential growth. I love new experiences, and value being ready for the unexpected.

To Prep I’ll be doing a lot of different things, that I can write about later. For example, I’m growing out my pubic hair as much as I can so that Princess Donna can hang weights from the locks of hair. I’m also doing rougher and ‘bigger’ sex in my private life, including fisting and anal sex (last night I had 8 fingers inside my ass.)

But the biggest thing is on the top of my brain, and to be honest it intimidates me. No, it’s not trying out the cattle prod and seeing just how bad it really is. But that’s up there, along with electro play and I’ll get to a post about prepping for that too. It’s just doing an enema.

Confession: I’ve never done one before, though I have anal sex in my private life and have incorporated anal play in some scenes. (Vai used the teenytiny Spur dildo on my ass in Episode 7 of CrashPadSeries.com and in Episode 14 with Shawn and Micah Riot I wore a glass butt plug (this one) that I happened to accidentally slip completely inside – whoops – and I had to calmly fish it out.) However these were pretty ‘contained’ scenes and for my upcoming WiredPussy.com shoot I’d like to be ready for more intense anal play, and without fear of accidents.

I’ve checked the “YES” for anal check box, and fantasize about sporting a metal anal hook, as well as e-stem attachments, such as this plug.
So in the weeks leading up to the shoot I’m going to try it out a couple of times. This includes research, and lucky for me I know a lot of porn stars. It also includes finding great instructional sites online. Kink.com even offers a video of Ariel X (What a gorgeous dyke!) demonstrating two versions. Enjoy.
