Pornsaints.org is the art side of porn and the porn side of art. It is an artistic approach to porn, a pornographic approach to art, a pornoartistic approach to religion.

Artworks are based upon the idea that porn stars may be “sanctified” by their performances.

Founded by the artist Francesco D’Isa in early 2007, Pornsaints is based in Italy, and made up of artists from around the world working in an array of mediums ranging from digital video to oil and canvas. The art group lives out of the web too, with exhibitions and parties through art galleries worldwide: in Firenze (Italy), Berlin (Germany), Philadelphia (USA), San Francisco (USA), London (UK) and Austin (USA), Zurich (Switzerland). To me, Pornsaints illustrates the importance of an intersection of art, pornography, and spiritualism to cultural inclusion. I see pornography as a way to educate, entertain, validate, and connect people; I think Pornsaints do this as well. My pornsaints image is by artist Jeff Faerber, and I love the angles, tones, and underlaying sensuality he painted.

August goes to support one of my favorite art galleries in San Francisco — Femina Potens. It’s more like a cultural center than a gallery, and a super sex-positive one at that. Run by porn star Madison Young, the space hosts hundreds of artists and events each year. Lyon-Martin is where I’ve gone for my personal gyno visits, and where I’ve gone with poly lovers for STI testing. The clinic is part of my queer family and history. We got together one weekend and Mo shot the set in my bedroom (actually the one I just recently moved out of), and caught a side of me that not many photographers get. It’s sweet, silly, cuddly even. Alright, so I just got back from a great time in LA with Joanna Angel, James Deen, and friends working on Joanna’s next feature, which might be called Doppleganger but for the purpose of Twitter fun was given the nickname Blow Joanna Up (@BlowJoannaUp). It’s a hilarious comedy that includes a scene with me and the Porn Princess of Punk herself! I’ll write more when the film is released… but until then, I wanted to share some highlights from the trip!

Major highlight that must not go overlooked: Joanna Angel is a G-spot master. She has magical femina prostata-honing fingers! I did not know this going in to the project. I mean, I knew she was incredibly sexy and witty, and a smartypants when it comes to her company and holding her own in the ‘boys’ club’ of the adult industry. Joanna is also a brilliant script writer, and wove some hilarious twists and horror film references into the film. Her set is both fun and professional, and I had a great time with the talent and crew, including hipster Dan (@DanOhReally), charming Brian (@brianstreetteam ), Eli Cross, a camera genious and blogger, and I also got to work again with the sweetest make-up artist this side of the Pacific. I don’t normally wear eyelashes or make-up, but my make-up looked so good I didn’t want to take it off! The final product is going to look great as well. James showed me some footage after the shoot had wrapped and it looks damn good. When it is released you’ll have to check it out. Other stars of the film, besides Joanna and her bitchy doppleganger include Sparky who has a fun masturbation solo in the film, Asphyxiah who is a doll and has an equally doll girlfriend named Skin Diamond (Read: two hot baby femme dyke girlfriends who model!). James has a scene with the doll, Tommy Pistol is back in action, and wouldn’t you know it, Keni Styles is in the film! ALPHAFEMMES

I met Anna Devia on the set of Dangerous Curves — the film by Carlos Batts in which April Flores, Syd Blakovich, and myself have a wet three-way in front of a waterfall — which also stars Kelly Shibari & CJ Wright, newcomers Art Nuveau & XRae, and a fire tassels performance by Lady Monster, shot on the beach at dusk. Dangerous Curves was casted by April and won “Most Deliciously Diverse Cast” at the 2010 Feminist Porn Awards. Working with Anna on the shoot was fantastic, she’s definitely cool people, and she even let me where her toe-socks home!

So when Anna contacted me a few months later to ask if I would co-star with April in her new project about Femme Tops and butch/transmale bottoms called ALPHAFEMMES I was thrilled! It was a great opportunity to work with April again, and also to be a part of Anna’s new film, which is co-produced by Carlos Batts. I took a trip down to LA to shoot at a gorgeous modern Japanese home and garden which provided the backdrop for me an April’s scene.  Our shoot incorporated more of the aesthetic of the location than the other scenes in the film, in particular with April’s make-up and the use of sake and platform bed. I think these elements were done tastefully;  it’s nice to be on a set with people who are conscious about the styles/cultures they draw from. And it’s particularly nice when the home’s generous owner is there, continually offering me hot sake! Perfect on a rainy day with my beautiful doll April!

Another very cool thing about the shoot, is that April gave me a special gift. If you recall, I waxed/shaved all my body and pubic hair for April and Carlos to shoot Dangerous Curves. (See the picture of me on the waterfall rocks in the post I did about choosing pubic hair appearance called “Seeing the Forest Through the Trees“). I was happy to do it for the shoot, as I sometimes like to “femme-out”. In fact, I realized shooting with April was that I was her doll because she did my make-up and dressed me for the shoot. So for ALPHAFEMMES,  April decided to grow her public hair (as much as she could) for ME as a thank you for my shaving for her for our last shoot. Amazingly hot and sweet of her, and it means that ALPHAFEMMES is the only scene to-date where you can see a small bit of lovely fuzz on my doll April Flores’ famous mons, making this movie all the more special. (Actually there’s a lot of special things in the film, I learned, after talking to Syd and Puck about their shoots!)
