Fucking Thumbs

… grumble…

I have ZERO tolerance for censorship of queer sexuality. Why do so many businesses include fisting with such extreme activities like bestiality, necrophilia, rape, and “dismemberment”… dismemberment? Really?

What is so scary about a thumb?  The name itself sounds like painful attack, though I want to fly into battle with clenched strikes to make it known that FF is not a crime. Fisting is not illegal. So why the censorship in pornography? Visa? Are you and the other credit card processors to blame? Who was it who decided to write in the word fisting after such a thing as rape? Why fisting, an act that so many people of all genders and orientations enjoy?

I don’t now whether it’s ever been prosecuted before. But clearly, if one sees this movie, the participants are enjoying themselves. And there are books that have been written about the subject with approval. Obviously, not everybody engages in this activity, but enough do to warrant books having been written about it; sex therapists having described it, and people filming it. And again, voluntary by adults, women. Maybe there’s a thing about lesbians, I don’t know. Maybe there’s a gay prejudice. I do know that, in years gone past, that was sort of one key element that prosecutors sometimes used. They never admitted it. … Sometimes what they’ll do is prosecute interracial sex. They would never say, “That’s why we’re doing it,” but they’re always hoping that there would be some residual prejudice from the jury to convict. But basically it’s erotic activity that some people like to watch.

With Prop 8 second-class sentiments still reeling in my brain, a recent censorship of yet ANOTHER queer DVD has really pissed me off. I don’t even know how to organize my thoughts around it yet. I’m not naming names here because thankfully it’s only one sleazy situation and the last thing I want to do is instigate more ignorance. I will say that I’m currently fighting it out through trying to work with The Man as opposed to throwing my cards on the table and giving up.

So… I need some positivity.
