The BEST news! My anthology Coming Out Like a Porn Star will come out (again!) in its second edition on October 8th, complete with book tours and exciting events to celebrate the new release.

Why a new publisher? Why a second edition?

Well, some time during the beginning of COVID, the book’s original publisher ThreeL Media shut its operations. (Oh no!) Without new books being printed, Coming Out was soon out of stock and disappeared from bookshelves. Despite having been in out for nearly a decade, this powerful book is still such a unique and important resource. There’s nothing else like it. It’s also still incredibly necessary, especially during a time when so many new adult creators are entering the industry. Creating this book is one of my proudest accomplishments in porn, so I knew I had to do something to get it back in print. I reached out to the team at Feminist Press to see if they could take over its publication, and help me make a few improvements in the process. Two years and a LOT editing… here we are!

What’s different in the new book? Besides trimming a few essays and updating bios, the new edition contains several new pieces that catch us up to the present day especially in terms of technology and social media. The anthology now boasts over SIXTY contributors, and remains the largest collection of essays written by adult film professionals about their industry. It also offers a new foreword by sex tech writer Samantha Cole, and a new introduction by your’s truly.

Coming Out Like a Porn Star (2nd Edition)

For porn stars, “coming out” is a process that never ends.

To the uninitiated, the idea of a career in the adult film industry may come with stigma that porn performers and sex workers have long fought to shake off. For many, that fight begins with one awkward conversation.

New contributors include Arabelle Raphael, Jessica Starling, Jet Setting Jasmine, King Noire, Maria Riot, Sinnamon Love, Siri Dahl, and Tyler Knight.
